Nahed Al-Dawy.. the flower of giving that blossomed at the Qena Girls Club and departed in the environs of Mecca
Her administrative and humanitarian legacy will remain alive, inspiring future generations of women in Qena
Deep sorrow swept across Qena Governorate following the news of the death of Ms. Nahed Abdel Rahim Al-Dawy, the former executive director of the Qena Girls Club.
The deceased was not merely an administrative official performing her duties with formal routine; she was a community leader, a nurturing mother to the governorate's girls and women, and the owner of a distinctive development-oriented imprint that changed the concept of women's and sports work in southern Egypt.
Career progression and administrative appointment mechanism
As the Qena Girls Club is an official service facility directly affiliated with the Qena Governorate General Office and managed under the supervision of an official "Board of Trustees," assuming the position of executive director is subject to precise administrative competency standards within the organizational structure of local government:
Her career in the governorate's sectors: Throughout her years of employment, Ms. Nahed Al-Dawy progressed as an active administrator within the development sectors affiliated with the Governorate General Office; she supervised and followed up on numerous local service projects and women's initiatives, gaining extensive field experience.
Appointment and assignment decision: Based on her demonstrated competence in project management and community outreach, the Governor of Qena issued an official decision assigning her to serve as executive director of the Girls Club. There, she began a long career of giving during which she oversaw an unprecedented transformation at the club in coordination with the facility's Board of Trustees.
The construction boom and sporting achievements
Ms. Nahed Al-Dawy managed the club with an ambitious vision aimed at providing a safe space combining recreation, sports, and culture while adhering to the highest standards of privacy for the women of Upper Egypt. Under her leadership, the club witnessed notable achievements.
This continued dedication prompted Major General Ashraf Al-Dawdy, the former Governor of Qena, to officially honor her in June 2024 on the occasion of reaching the legal retirement age, describing her as "a model of a hardworking employee devoted to her work" who had earned the respect and trust of all visitors and staff.
Purity of heart and service to people

Nahed Al-Dawy
Behind her administrative firmness and successful leadership, Nahed Al-Dawy was distinguished by a pure heart and a helping hand extended to everyone who sought her assistance. Those close to her described her after her passing as "not merely a manager, but an older sister and a mother to everyone." She was known for her kind nature, her determination to remove obstacles facing the club's visitors, and her quiet humanitarian assistance. She made her position a platform for fulfilling people's needs and spreading positive energy and psychological comfort among the girls, making her legacy endure as an example for women leaders.
A tragic departure on the way to the Holy Lands
After a long career of professional and humanitarian giving, Ms. Nahed Al-Dawy traveled to the Holy Lands to perform the Umrah rituals. In September 2026, the bus carrying her and other Egyptian pilgrims was involved in a tragic rollover accident near Mecca (within Al-Jumum Governorate) after they had entered ihram at the Abyar Ali Miqat in Medina. The accident resulted in her tragic death, as her soul ascended to its Creator while she recited the talbiyah in ihram garments in the holiest places on earth.
Following the news of her death, social media platforms across Egypt turned into an open mourning tent, where thousands prayed for her mercy and forgiveness, affirming that although her body was gone, her administrative and humanitarian legacy would remain alive, inspiring future generations of women in Qena.
